Happy Monday!
What does it mean to really honor God? I can tell you right now that honoring God has nothing to do with all your goody-goody deeds! It has nothing to do with being polite to people or even being kind toward others (you should do that because it's the right thing to do). Honoring God simply means allowing God and His Word to have FIRST place in your life! Period! Moses found favor with God and had only one request, Moses said, "now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you..." Exodus 33:13. In other words, Moses said, God show me the things that are important to you because I want them to be important to me too!
Yes, we are Christians (hopefully we are), yes, we are believers (hopefully we are) and yes we love God (hopefully we do!), but is God's Word truly first place in everything we do and in every area of our life? Do we truly acknowledge Him and His Word in everything we do? God wants to really have a relationship with us like never before - but it will continue to require you and I to give more of ourselves - really more of our hearts. I love this scripture, "and you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might" Deuteronomy 6:5...Lets put God first place yall - God we honor you!
